GUIDELINES FOR SEWN BOOTIES

Materials: Fleece scraps or knit (fabric) scraps. Use ribbing for the cuff.

Size: The sole of the bootie should be at least 3" long. The circumference around the ankle should be about 3" around and at least 1 1/2" tall to help them stay on better.

We have a bootie pattern that we you can use. If you want the pattern, please ask your Work Group Coordinator or email us at info@touchinglittlelives.org to have the pattern sent to you. Also, we have volunteers who "precut" booties for other people to sew, so we can provide volunteers with ones ready to sew. If you cut your own, the sides and sole of the bootie should be cut so that the stretch of the fabric goes side to side.

Please tie your booties together or put one inside the other. This will prevent the booties from getting separated before they are packed in a delivery. Don't use safety pins to fasten them together.

Finished booties need to be washed before being turned in. Do not use fabric softener in the dryer when drying them. Check for loose thread that may need to be trimmed.
